CARROLLITE GALLERY
In 1998, a benched open cut was secretly being mined.
A strict no collect policy was inforced the mine owners and the specimens the escaped destruction came from the mill. This find produced the world's finest carrollites. By 2001, the area had been depleted of specimens. The Gobins able purchased virtually all of the specimens.
Carrollite has always been considered a rare mineral. Before this find, Gauthier had found a crystal that was approximately the size of a quarter and was considered the best of the species. This find was a quantum leap above previous discoveries, but there simply have been no new specimens. The specimens have been discounted from Gobin's wholesale price.
