Jeffery Quarry, Quebec, Canada is flooded and abandoned. On 4/25/2009,
a group of diehard collectors discovered a pocket of bright green garnets. Green Grossular garnet is sometimes found in this area. Due to the presence of amphibole and a coloration difference, an analysis of the garnets was made
that proved the new garnet to be andradite, variety demantoid garnet. The new demantoids are among the best that have been found in North America.
